In keeping with my perpetual theme of mutual aid and community building... To borrow from @timothysnyder.bsky.social, we need to make eye contact with - and then get to know - those around us to keep each other safe. And coat your city in zines to spread the word. 📒🦋 Read On Tyranny, too. ❤️‍🩹

This Twin Cities art group is turning trash into treasure. 🖼️  Founded in 2017, the Twin Cities Collage Collective gathers regularly at Fresh Eye Gallery (@fresheyegallery) for communal art-making. At these meetups, expect to find stacks of vintage magazines, paper scraps in unexpected places, and a shared sense of excitement in reworking found materials. ✨ For @twincitiescollagecollective founder allison anne (@allisonannecollage), the goal is to provide a welcoming environment for anyone who is interested in working in collage. “We really want to make it as accessible as possible.” 🫶🏽 To learn more about the artists featured in this video, check out their profiles below. Andrea Okeson / @andreaokesonart Christopher Alday / @_hurlyburly_ Jen Shaffer / @jen_shaffer_art Jenna Wynne / @pony_hotline Maggie Carter / @incognitomaggie Margaret Vergara / @marg.verg.art MELMCK / @melmckcollage Sonitha Tep / @f0g.machine Yvette Griffea-gray / @7yvelen allison anne / @allisonannecollage Brady Martin (Brado) / @hmmonmyway Ellis MacMillan / @mothscraps...#artcollective #collageart #twincitiesart #localartist #artofinstagramView all comments

Pageant was the first hand-cut zine I made in late 2019! It feels like such a long time ago, and it paved the way for increasingly complicated book projects made over the years. Lately, it’s been also one of my more popular zines which is weirdly gratifying.
