Insane. Earlier, Harris, an elected official, lectured constituents about respecting 1st Amendment after they jeered him (as in he implied they were violating his rights...?). Then implores police to confiscate a camera from a journalist, saying they have no right to record him at press conference.
Republican Rep. Andy Harris incorrectly told a reporter they were breaking the law as the reporter and others recorded an exchange with him last night.

Harris had just wrapped up a debate with Democratic challenger Dan Schwartz.

Very proud of this piece with @tommasopavone.bsky.social, now out at JOP, where we use the empirical setting of Slovakia - an eroding democracy with a recent experience of backsliding - to gauge the potential of the past to affect present-day attitudes: www.journals.uchicago.edu/doi/10.1086/...

The Original Sin of politics was the invention of the passive voice, when Adam and Eve ate of the Tree of Vague Unaccountability.

Wild how all those violent ICE agents just … got hired … and deployed … somehow. Who can possibly say how? It’s all a mystery.
Susan Collins: "I think what happened is far too many ICE officers were hired and deployed without adequate vetting and training"

Trump “was troubled that Guilfoyle was making money off his presidency,” the WSJ informs us, with the journalistic equivalent of a straight face.
"Guilfoyle was scrambling to save her job ... when the Journal revealed texts showing she had solicited $100k from a Trump donor, Guilfoyle reached out to the WH to say the texts were AI generated. The officials didn’t believe her claims. Journal reporters verified the authenticity of the texts."
Inside Kimberly Guilfoyle’s Final Days as Ambassador to Greece
To save her job, she claimed the incriminating texts were AI generated; Trump grew annoyed with the damaging revelations.
