There have been countless studies that actively contradict Wakefield. AND The Lancet retracted the paper. AND wakefield's corporate sponsors wanted him to establish a link for profit reasons. It's been 30 years and I am TIRED of explaining this.

It happened to me once in Paris by Gare du Nord, but I think the cafe owner was more annoyed at us for being tourists generally than for being American. Was less annoyed and mildly apologetic when he learned I spoke French.
Seconded. I travel all over the world and have yet to be hated on simply for being from the US. That said, I do try to live by the implied rules for tourists, which is to be polite, respectful, and spend a lot of money in local shops and cafes.
Yep, I travel a lot internationally and have never encountered someone who was unpleasant to me just because I’m American.

Idk why I have been seeing this discourse on my feed, but 1) it's not about the achievements, it's about being able to have the same experience as a non-disabled gamer, and 2) yeah achievement hunting can take a dark turn for some, but people can enjoy the same thing in different ways.
Hot take: I feel that Mina The Hollower disabling achievements if you have accessibility/difficulty-reducing options on isn't an accessibility issue.

Truly think these euphemisms are for Men, and also those with deeply internalized misogyny. I am a big fan of open-carrying pads/tampons/etc just to watch people squirm (but also because, ya know, challenging stigma)
I wish euphemisms like "Red flower blooming" for menstruation could stop already.
