In a recent tragedy a 9 yo child was hit by a minivan and killed in a nearby area. I don't think I would have noticed before I started listening to @thewaroncars.bsky.social but every. single. headline. talks about the scooter and not one say what he was struck or killed by.

More on polling, this time climate change. According to the Yale Climate survey, 77% of Americans think global warming is impacting extreme heat. And 73% say it's impacting wildfires. Only 73% of Americans think climate change is happening. 🤷♀️

I have two girls who play sports. I am far more concerned about the additional potential costs (in time and money) and how they verifying girls in sports than I ever have been about a passionate trans girl being good at one of their sports.

The notion that the president has absolute power over creations of Congress is already nuts, with no basis in law, but it reaches utterly absurd when it includes an unwritten "but not when some Supreme Court Justices feel like he's messing with the money" exception.
We have Slaughter and Cook. By a 6–3 vote, SCOTUS overturns Humphrey's Executor and lets Trump fire heads of independent agencies. But by a 5–4 vote, it refuses to let him fire Lisa Cook from the Federal Reserve.
