"not everyone can do everything" is a terrible reason not to do anything
Not everyone can drive and this kind of anti-bike rhetoric harms those who can’t. Building safe bike infrastructure doesn’t prevent anyone from driving, but designing a society where driving is the only viable option excludes people who are unable to drive altogether.
Hate to use the word but ableist but not everyone is able to ride a bike. Many people have physical limitations. And not everyone has a climate conducive to riding. Winter riding is not for the faint of heart when it’s -20°. Not everyone has safe routes to ride.

Grid-scale batteries are going in an absolutely wild pace.

Every whingey objection to renewables you've ever heard is basically solved by batteries. This is happening whether any of the hopeless dipshits running the US want it or not.
The world is installing grid batteries at a blistering pace
A total of 112 gigawatts of batteries were deployed around the world in 2025 — 10 times the amount added just four years prior.

Get yourself a mayor like this
I joined NY’s Cutest on the Bergen Bike Bus that they ride to school every Wednesday, rain or shine.
We’re adding bike boulevards and more pedestrian space on Bergen and Dean Street, from Court Street to East New York Ave.

It was a wonderful kind of day.

Wow. SCOTUS’s “shadow docket” was first established to stop the Clean Power Plan.

It’s remarkable how many assaults on democracy, or at least on established process, over the last decade have served to protect fossil-fuel interests from the energy transition.

After Trump's unhinged post saying "Open the Fuckin' Strait" and mocking Iran with "Praise be to Allah," I repeat what I've said for many months in my Stop the Presses newsletter:

Media must cover — not cover up — Trump’s unfitness
The president benefits from the failure to focus on his broken brain
