We don’t need to replace 600 EJ of fossil energy. We need to stop wasting it. Fossil systems lose ~2/3 as heat. Electrification delivers energy directly into work, cutting total demand ~40–50%. The transition isn’t bigger than we think. It’s smaller. #SWB #Bettrification
Primary Energy Fallacy: Why Demand Is Overstated - EV Curve Futurist
We don’t need to replace 600 EJ. Electrification removes waste, cutting global energy demand to ~300–350 EJ. The transition is easier than it looks.

EV charging enters the MEGAWATT ERA. ⚡

China’s Geely has deployed new chargers rated at an insane 2,250 kW.

Current test vehicles are already pulling ~1,100 kW:

🔋 10–70%: 4.5 mins
🔋 10–97%: 8.7 mins

“EVs take too long to charge” is rapidly becoming an obsolete argument.

Geely has deployed 12C fast-charging stations with a power output of 2,250 kW in five cities across China to counter BYD’s flash chargers.

EV depreciation fears are overblown. The real gap is just 2.6%, not 12.9%, once subsidies, taxes & falling new EV prices are adjusted for. As used #EV demand grows & running costs stay low, ICE faces rising pressure. The narrative is about to flip, and disruption is moving into the used-car market.

I’m seeing a growing consensus that XPENG’s VLA 2.0 may already be superior to Tesla FSD. This back-to-back test on neutral ground in Amsterdam only adds to it. Smoother, more human-like driving, huge onboard compute and natural voice input. Competition is here.

DEALERS REFUSING DIESELS AS EV TRADE-INS

This won’t surprise those following disruption, but headline is evocative, and I suspect trend becomes global as soon as by this year.

With diesel above £2/litre in the UK, specialist EV dealers are reporting a surge of people looking to switch to electric.

Geopolitics, shifting sentiment & fading FUD around Chinese #EVs are converging. After a decade of slow burn, adoption is accelerating. Australia hit 1 in 4 new cars fully battery-electric (BEV) a decade ahead of forecast & this is just take-off, disruption S-curves aren't gentle. #Bettrification

FSD 14.3.5 in Australia overtook on a 100 km/h highway despite an occluded oncoming lane. A car appeared; Troy braked and disengaged. LiDAR wouldn't fix it—occluded means unknown, not clear. Even supervised, that's a catastrophic-risk decision. Autonomy isn't solved. More work needs to be done ✔️

Plug-in #EV share of new passenger-car sales/registrations around August 2026, counting BEVs + PHEVs/EREVs. The remarkable thing isn’t Norway approaching 100%. It’s who else is on the list. Different continents. Different incomes. Different grids. Different governments. Same technological S-curve.

At 2,500 Class 8 BEVs, it's the largest electric-truck order in US history, possibly, world, enough to nearly double America’s electric Class 8 fleet. Tesla primary OEM; Kenworth, RIDE & Volvo secondary. The BEV trucking disruption is just getting started. #Bettrification #EVs #Electrification #BEV

Uruguay may have produced one of the fastest #EV adoption curves ever recorded. #BEVs went from ~5% of new vehicle sales to 51% in roughly 2½ years, while plug-ins reached 56% in August. Substantially faster through this part of the S-curve than Norway.

In 2010, the Nissan Leaf arrived as the world’s first mass-produced EV ordinary buyers could own: a five-seat electric hatchback, no exotic price, no tiny production run. It eventually passed 600,000 global sales.

Its real breakthrough was perception. It proved an EV could simply be someone’s car.

Denmark just flew 5 people over 300 km in an all-electric plane—in under an hour. ⚡✈️ It recharged in 30 mins and emitted zero CO₂. It’s not just a test—it’s step one in Denmark’s bold plan: 100% fossil-free domestic flights by 2030. The skies are changing. #ElectricFlight #Denmark #EVaviation #EVTOL
The future of flight? First electric aeroplane lands in Denmark
The plane can be charged using a standard fast charger for electric cars in just 20 to 40 minutes, the company says. Experts say airports will need to gradually expand charging infrastructures for electric aircraft.

Solar passed nuclear in Texas 2 years ago. Now it's double.

Texas is what makes this chart powerful. This isn't green ideology winning. It's pure economics.

Solar is cheap, modular, scalable & incredibly fast to deploy. Wind keeps growing too. When economics take over, ideology becomes irrelevant.

When a reporter asked psychopath Trump on 9/11 if his building was damaged, he said, 'Now it's the tallest'—as thousands died, still dying and New York burned. The boast was false. Then America elected him twice as POTUS anyway. That says everything about us. Think about it....

The global #robotaxi race is heating up, and it’s much bigger than #Tesla vs #Waymo.

China is scaling fast, #XPeng is joining the race and Chinese operators are going global.

The next battle: scale, cost, density and wait times.

The Global Robotaxi Race -
Robotaxis aren’t won by innovation alone. China’s scale-first model is driving lower costs and faster adoption, leaving Western pilots behind.

Calling EV 'just a car' misses point—like calling smartphone 'just a phone'. It's a software platform & AI. Driving becomes incidental, as calls did. The smartphone absorbed cameras, GPS, maps;EV absorbs energy, compute, auto. We repeat 'horseless carriage'. EV isn't a better car; it's a new system.

Electric trucks aren't coming. They're already here.

400–700 km range. Megawatt charging. Falling TCO.

China e-truck sales surged 182% in 2025, driven by economics, energy security & industrial strategy.

Now they're going global. RIP the diesel era. 👇
Electric Trucks Unleashed. Freight Enters New Age -
Electric trucks are here. 600 km is the baseline, but the real shift is economics. Lower costs, higher efficiency, and long haul disruption is already underway.

Tesla deserves credit for changing the car industry. It proved #EVs could beat ICE on performance & desirability, drove battery scale, pioneered software-defined cars & built the Supercharger network when industry doubted EVs had a future. Tesla disrupted the incumbents. Now Tesla is an incumbent.

The part of the energy transition that matters most: the cost curves.

In 15 years, batteries fell ~93%. Utility solar ~90%.

When foundational technologies get ~10× cheaper, they don't just take market share. They restructure entire industries.

And the curves haven't stopped. #Bettrification #SWB

For the past few years, one of the loudest arguments against the AI boom has been its enormous & rapidly growing demand for electricity.

That concern is legitimate. But look deeper at what that demand is unleashing: a massive accelerant for the renewable energy buildout. The Trojan Horse of Energy!

The US energy transition keeps accelerating, and now surging electricity demand from AI and data centres is adding fuel to the fire.

Renewables now generate >30% of US electricity.

⚡ Renewables +10.9%
☀️ Utility solar +21.6%
☀️ Rooftop solar +13%
💨 Wind +6.5%
🔥 Coal -11.3%

Well done, Australia. 🇦🇺 This is the way.

AI is going to need enormous amounts of electricity. Make that demand bring new renewable generation with it, and AI becomes an accelerator for solar, wind, batteries and the grid, not a burden on it. #Bettrification #SWB
