I mean, yeah, there was no RC after Port Arthur, they just fixed gun laws…also there was no RC into one punch deaths by men against men, they just shut everything down after two of them, miles apart.

THIS. If it wasn't for the gun law legislation post Port Arthur (and credit where it's due) Howard would be one of the most reviled PMs of all. Weaponised racism for political gain instead of slapping it down and Australia has paid an enormous price for 30 years as a result.
