This kind of report should be accompanied by a press conference—not with some low-level bureaucrat, but with the prime minister. Flanked by all of his ministers. In prime time, with technical briefings.

This report says we're facing unimaginable disaster, yet we didn't even get a briefing.
Environmental groups say there’s a reason why the federal government quietly released its latest climate report, which finds that average temperatures in Canada are set to go up by at least 3.5 C by the end of the century.
Carney government accused of burying climate report warning of worsening impacts
The report, which analyzes the impacts of climate change in Canada, was posted to a government website with no fanfare on Thursday evening ahead of the Labour Day long weekend.

The Cons have been in gov't in AB for the past 52 of 56 years. The AB Heritage Fund has been around since 1976. Norway consulted former Premier Lougheed when it set up its fund. We're at about $32B (capital, not profit); Norway is $2.3T. We had a 14 yr head start.

We absolutely have been looted.

Canada is doubling down on fossil fuels as climate-fulled wildfires rage.

Read Mitch Anderson's latest below:
As Climate-Fuelled Wildfires Rage, Mark Carney Cuts Emergency Response and Funds Fossil Fuels
The prime minister should consider the potential outcomes of siding with his Bay Street buddies and oil industry bigwigs over climate-beleaguered Canadians.

It would be easy to call this the “new normal“ but that’s incorrect.

In actual fact, “normal” is going to keep getting worse and worse and worse.

Just how bad it will get depends entirely on how fast & far we go on real, legitimate (not performative) #ClimateAction.

We know how.

It’s about will.
Bordeaux, France, has now recorded more days above 40°C in 2026 alone than during the entire 105-year period from 1920 (when observations began) to 2025.

This is deeply shocking.

Everyone who hears liars like Trump, MAGA and the GOP lying about “who’s at fault” for #ClimateChange-fueled wildfires this summer, and every summer to come, should read and share this thread. #ClimateCrisis #Wildfires
🧵 Dear Republican lawmakers,

Canada has the largest intact boreal forest on the planet.

An increasingly hotter world due to #ClimateChange makes longer dry seasons, far larger wildfires & yes, more smoke. No amount of "raking" fixes it. The scientists warned of exactly this for a very long time /1

Did Trump offer condolences? No, he blamed Canada for the smoke in Washington DC and decided to punish...well, everyone with more tariffs. And of course Republicans danced to his tune with a sanctions bill.

For anyone who thinks increasing oil & gas production is the path to energy independence, you're dead wrong. While we continue to rely on fossil fuels, we're held hostage to global pricing. The real path to energy security is local production of renewables and grid-scale storage. #EnergyTransition

Agreed. Carney really pulled the wool over our eyes during his election campaign. How sad he was our least worst option.
This is very concerning.
“He yells,” said one MP...“He punches down at caucus all the time.”

This fits Carney's decades-long pattern. There's a pattern of behavior with underlings at multiple organizations over decades. These are ingrained personality traits.

When physicians have faulty foundational beliefs (no symptoms = no disease being one of them), policy fails and people get sick.

Because physicians protect each other, the status quo persists.

That is what my Op-Ed was about (even if The Star watered it down against my objections).
