In a competitive world, you can see why the market could drive LLMs towards this. A lot of people like their ideas to be validated, so it would make sense that a sycophantic model (that’s not too blatant) could be preferred over a more evidence-based one.

“Feared”? What are you on about? Most EV drivers haven’t “feared” this. I expect it’s mainly non-EV drivers who have been fed misinformation that have felt like that.

This seems odd when we seem to be getting an increasingly clear picture that batteries last much better than expected. A simple battery warranty would be one way to allay fears, but I think people just need time for the FUD to clear and see it’s not a problem.

I wonder if it’s because of people seem to increasingly be thinking screens are automatically bad/a distraction. Maybe it’s a vocal minority. Who knows!

I do tend to agree with your point, but *if* all key driver controls and info are on the steering wheel and binnacle screen it would be less of a bother. Not sure which camp the RR falls into though! 2/2

I always think there’s a lot of nuance to this - admittedly the conversation is the more straightforward screens vs. buttons. Since driving a model 3, and cars with mainly buttons but still terrible placement/visibility, I think whatever the layout/tech, it can be done well or not. 1/2

Just trying to think of tools with the capacity to cause major harm or death, but have 100% success in avoiding it, but can’t really think of much. Just working through your logic and wondering where we would be if we genuinely did ban any tool that has caused a single incident of harm or death.

What about mechanical failures in current vehicles that cause death? Rare, but your threshold is 0% tolerance. Should we ban all cars?

This then, is where we differ. Which is fine of course. I would just choose whichever options reduce the number of people that are killed on our roads.

That is an interesting perspective. Is it correct then to say that you would prefer not to use autonomous vehicles if they are anything other than 100% perfect, even if doing so could reduce road deaths significantly?

People driving also sometimes kill themselves and others, so at what point is it ok, i.e., how much better do self driving cars need to be than us before we’re content with the number that unfortunately die while in them?

If the big packs aren’t available you provide the smaller ones (about 1/2 the size), but unlike other items where you would usually make it up the quantity ordered, with this you still just provide the same number of packs so we don’t get as much as we need.

Do you have a link to something else? I looked on maps and Earth and see the same, but either way the coordinates given seem to be a completely different place 🤷♂️
