People on here understand that treating things as art is intelligent, and good. And it is! But they simply cannot understand art. It's really easy to see with video games. "Games are art!" they shout, before whipping out a checklist to judge them by.

Most of the feel-good/smart/righteous slogans and memes and declarations are not believed by the majority who like and share them.
I saw a bunch of people declaring that you had to play a game to say shit about it, but had no problem when one of their friends was shitting on a game they didn't play

I really am immensely bitter that I bought entirely into people going "the curtains aren't just blue" and then when FFXVI comes out with a narrative full-throatedly proclaiming that corrupt and exploitative systems MUST be burned down, regardless of the short-term harm, people went "oh, slavery bad"

Final Fantasy XVI gets such a bad wrap because it had the major flaw of not coming out when its main detractors were twelve, or alternatively, before posting about games online became their primary motivation for playing them.

I don't begrudge anyone for not being excited by the new Gundam teaser. That's fine! I certainly wasn't thrilled by GQux's preview! But I take umbrage with writing it off as being bad or without themes just from the trailer. It is intellectually fraudulent.

Everyone is acting baffled that the makers of the new Gundam don't seem to understand Gundam 00 exists, and these are my thoughts on that.
So, I like American comics. I promise I'm going somewhere with this. I was all livid and angry when Marvel was like "Peter Parker is DEAD FOREVER and DOC OCK will ALWAYS be Spider-Man from now on!!!" Naturally, it was a planned story with a beginning, middle, and end.

Everyone is acting baffled that the makers of the new Gundam don't seem to understand Gundam 00 exists, and these are my thoughts on that.
My initial reaction to the new Gundam (having seen screenshot and the promo images) was "Alright, sure, looks fine" but watching people so IMMEDIATELY decide they hate this thing based on so little information is negatively polarizing me into being really excited for it.

I actually quite like killing god in RPGs and don't view it as a tired cliche because god ks always a vessel for the themes of the story, and different stories have different themes. God always represents something different.

Every time I see someone treating FFVII Remake like God's gift to gaming I feel like a crazy person for seeing such glaring flaws in it. It doesn't feel good to be one of the few people that finds flaws in this game while the whole internet seems utterly enthralled!

Been thinking a lot about D&D lately, and honestly I do actually like both alignment and ability scores bonuses based on character race. I feel like a lot of the problems with them are fairly overblown.

I really hate it when people say America is fundamentally fascist and evil at its core. That just completely disregards all the struggles and sacrifices big and small people have made to bring the nation closer to embodying the ideals it was founded on.
