we are not wired to seek truth when presented with new information. we're wired to figure out how to use it to gain an advantage in the tribe. it takes real, conscious effort to push back against those instincts.
the funniest thing about the "we don't trust the media" people is that they will trust literally anyone else. like, if you have an image and text, they'll buy it. shaking keys at babies type logic.
