Was a beautiful day for a walk with Lily & Tucker bonus was a hen harrier, marsh harrier, wheatear, lots of stonechat, linnet, goldfinch, skylark, meadow pipit and an empty beach all to ourselves

For it's 3rd season, the Black-crowned night heron returned to the Reed-bed in the early morning,
Also here 5 juvenile Bearded tits & Bittern,
2 juvenile Mediterranean gull on West Holm, with 4 on East Holm & 7 Avocet chicks,
Also a Hobby south over West Holm, with a Redshank on East Holm,

It's back for the 3rd season.
The Black-crowned night heron seen on the Reed-bed very early in the morning.
It flew south & then doubled back to land somewhere between the Carp & Far lakes, so it may reveal itself later on

Delightful hours spent at Summer Leys yesterday, 1st cuckoo, glossy ibis, grey partridge, common terns, garden & sedge warblers, oycs with young, both whitethroat, snipe, lone barwit & dunlin in summer suits,lots of ducklings, 56 species, 3+ miles and plenty of sunshine #northantsbirds
