A great cycle around St Davids A Brambling flew over Lower Moor during a visible migration session at Porthclais 4 Swallows flew south. On rooftops of Lower Treleddyn a juv/female Black Redstart was picking off insects and another Brambling flew over here with a Chaffinch flock.

Squeezed in a post-work walk at Pembrey Burrows this eve. Undoubted highlight was this Merlin, also seen later sat on the beach where it appeared to be enjoying the sunset. Male Marsh Harrier over the reeds. #birdingWales #UKWildlife #birds #birdsSeenIn2026 @carmgowerbto.bsky.social

Fab views of the juvenile Pallid Harrier at Cors Ddyga RSPB today with @swkent.bsky.social - a 'first' for me. It was hunting successfully incl. catching a Teal!
Huge numbers of waterfowl have arrived in the past few days as water levels have risen.

A short video of one of yesterday evening’s two Barn Owls hunting over Llanrhidian Marsh. Great to have a regular run of sightings for what is normally a tricky species to see locally. #birdingWales #UKWildlife #birds

Pallid Harrier - juvenile, Cors Ddyga, Anglesey 02/11/2026. Twilight and mucking up one of my camera settings didn't help. I have had to lift exposure of images and denoise, but these are probably the best shots I managed today. I will try again tomorrow. #birdingwales

There have been some really nice local birds of late, none more so than this Black Redstart at Machynys late Friday afternoon. Initially elusive it popped up right in front of us before continuing to actively feed amongst the boulders. #birdingWales #UKWildlife #birds
