When the public finally learns the full accounting of the damage done in this war, it’ll probably be too late to hold anyone in the Trump administration accountable.

But this is insane. And they’re lying to the American people.

So

1. Hrs right. There is nothing magic about $40 trillion. It’s just a number.

2. He’s delusional. He’s paying >5.2% to borrow at 30 years. GDP grew 1.5% in Q2. His math isn’t mathing.

Evergreen sentence right there
Not only does the Trump administration lack a solid strategy to win the war in Iran, it has no capacity to handle any of the second or third-order effects of the war. No one truly appreciates the scope of Trump’s clusterfuck. danieldrezner.substack.com/p/donald-tru...

Everybody in the "climate space" (which means everyone on earth...) needs to understand these mind-blowing figures.

Google's "total electricity consumption jumped from 31 terawatt hours (TWh) in 2024 to 43 TWh in 2025."

In ONE year.

The AI corporate arms race is eating the world.
NEW BLOG FOR YOU

Google's energy consumption numbers in their new climate report are mind-blowing. 2 years ago they flipped from linear to exponential growth, and their climate impact is blowing out, too.

A WILD testament to the obscene bloat and waste of GenAI:

This is a story about the President and several of his hand-picked appointees all committing crimes and blatantly lying to the public while stealing public funds and abusing the criminal justice system, but the NYTimes describes the situation like they're recapping a soap opera.
Another example of the problem with the fixation with Trump’s putative emotions: here a story about the Trump administration’s corruption, incompetence, and venality is framed as one about Trump’s “wrath.”
