Tree growth is now limiting the view into the valley so it’s becoming a poor ‘watchpoint’…

Reading this small volume reinforces 2 things in my mind.
1) that I am right to think that if I was starting this #birding lark (geddit) now, I would probably give up in a month;
2) I need to find my own ‘local patch’!
What a sad state of decline it outlines….

Author writes of large flocks of Scaup “hundreds strong” and “… Curlew in vast herds, showing no signs of decreasing…”
What we have lost is sad to see…
