Was in an actual shebeen in the last century behind a clothes shop in a town somewhere west of Dundalk. Pint bottles of Guinness, Macardles and Smithwicks. Now if an actual pub in Ireland could replicate that...

They need to read up on Asquith and Ireland. The parallels are hard to ignore: a downward spiral into violent domestic unrest largely created by a cabinet wholly unwilling to take action. And we all know that we're still living with the consequences.

Margaret and I were in Scotland last week and seeing a Church that was still a Church was a rarity. From what I'm seeing the Kirk is massively in retreat everywhere, while the small and enthusiastic missional SEC for central Fife I attend on holiday is holding its own.

They are horrors. The poison of the press is percolating through G B News and into the FB feeds of their target audience. The UK may well get far worse before the hard of thinking cop themselves on.
