If this is a wider trend in the museum space it's to be regretted.

so in conclusion: awareness is important because hey, that thing you’re just used to may in fact be considered a Symptom! and diagnosis can be useful! the goal though should always be to handle issues you’re having, and diagnosis is just one tool there.

Now the thing about EDS particularly (and as a group, not speaking of any one subtype) is that a lot of us have had issues be dismissed or handled individually and incoherently for years.

This is gonna vary a tonne based on location and resources but the one thing someone said to me that I’m gonna repeat: the goal should not be to get a specific diagnosis. The goal should be to understand and address your symptoms.
Hey, if you don't mind sharing, what was the diag process like (test-wise)? (I kinda recognize myself in half your posts about EDS and I'm considering getting a diag)

Been a few years for me but I too would like to be less aware of my EDS
it’s my first Ehler-Danlos awareness month since I’ve actually been diagnosed and honestly I would like to be less aware of it

As for the behaviour of the BM, I simply struggle to contain or express my contempt and fury that an institution that has so much power and academic/cultural cachet has made the decision to ignore the scope of the very history it holds and bow to the demands of a genocidal force.

This is before we even get into the fact that Palestine and the Palestinian people play key roles in all of the Abrahamic faiths and not in a role of enmity. Archaeology, history, religion, language, culture - Palestine is important.

As Sarah says in the quoted post, the name 'Palestine' is ancient. It is part of the history of humanity and must not be part of efforts by the Israeli state to erase the identity and history of a people who have roots as far back as the very beginnings of recorded global history.

I am absolutely furious and ashamed to have ever been a member of an institution that has caved to pressure to erase and cover up the history that it is supposed to be protecting and using to educate. I have had my issues with the BM before for their many missteps but this is the line. No further.
