so in conclusion: awareness is important because hey, that thing you’re just used to may in fact be considered a Symptom! and diagnosis can be useful! the goal though should always be to handle issues you’re having, and diagnosis is just one tool there.

Now the thing about EDS particularly (and as a group, not speaking of any one subtype) is that a lot of us have had issues be dismissed or handled individually and incoherently for years.

That’s where the EDS diagnosis becomes useful.

The 'nothing we can do, sorry' thing is a wall that I keep running into. Even the 'we can do things differently' seems to have run out now. The general consensus even from specialists is effectively 'keep taking the painkillers, A&E won't be able to help if something goes wrong, try not to die'

If they're the thing I think you're talking about, my OT uses a brand called Oval 8 and used a heat gun to soften the plastic a bit to shape them to my fingers better. They've been really helpful so far.

I have just tried to get a copy of 'Mario's Butt' but it said that the item wasn't available to ship to my location. I'm in Middlesbrough in the UK and I haven't seen this issue before from anywhere. Is there a way we can sort something out?

I thought I was the only one! Have always felt slightly ashamed that I would risk that level of injury for sex, but that is something I try to deal with.
