The Halls of Arden Vul (OSRIC) Session 51:

We were barricaded in the Library of Thoth with a massive horde of baboons (led by giant four-armed ones) just outside.

As they broke down the door we threw out flaming oil flasks, stabbed through with spears, attacked their morale with displays of […]

Brindlewood Bay Session 5:

We solved a murder mystery at an antique store silent auction. We did it in the same way we always do: collect random unconnected clues until we no longer have a penalty on the Theorize dice roll and then the most engaged player BSes a semi-plausible story around them […]

The halls of #ardenvul, sessions 49 and 50.

The party was looking for its captured friends, and instead found the druid Gerrilad and the mage Isocritis at the library of Thoth.

A successful ambush quickly took down the squishy druid and mage. The fight against the Logovores (one of the coolest […]

Good to be playing again after nearly a month off. My group managed some board game nights with a visiting former member during that time, but RPGs >>> board games in my book.

The Halls of Arden Vul (OSRIC) Session 50(!):

Last session we took out Garrilad, druid ruler of the baboon level, leaving his reluctant mage assistant(?) Isocritis and a squad of zombie baboons. We tried to talk him down, but he was hostile. Turn Undead with a Destroy result took care of the […]

If you want to get a bunch of new or previously released Conan RPG & board game stuff by Monolith, here’s your opportunity.

The board game catch-up options look great, but I have shelves full of as yet unplayed HeroQuest stuff, so I’m sticking with just the new RPG books (ignoring the unplayed […]

Wizards of the Coast has really been dropping the ball on a whole new segment of D&D players: Retirement Communities. You got millions of people all hanging out in the same place all the time with nothing to do. Get them into TTRPGs.

Brindlewood Bay Session 3:

We solved another mystery, this time involving a murder at a charity poker tournament.

Still not digging the game. I came up with a plausible solution to the mystery, but failed the Theorize roll so I was wrong. I’m not good at roleplaying an old woman. I’m not a […]

Hot take: when you run a crowdfunder, you're obligated to update backers once a month until fulfilled. And you can't be (publicly) grumbly about it. Just pop in and make the update. Might be not-fun if you have no news or bad news, but them's the breaks. You opted-in to that responsibility.
