The IRGC has claimed responsibility for an attack in the Strait of Hormuz - which I am pretty sure correlates to the UKMTO "security incident" reported at 20:30 UK time tonight.
The last time this happened the USA began targeting Iran again.
I will leave the dashboards on overnight...

The IRGC has claimed responsibility for an attack in the Strait of Hormuz - which I am pretty sure correlates to the UKMTO "security incident" reported at 20:30 UK time tonight.
The last time this happened the USA began targeting Iran again.
I will leave the dashboards on overnight...

It is unreported if this was a Somali pirate or a Houthi incident.
But that is almost irrelevant at this stage. This is just more evidence to the commercial ships that security in the area is degrading further.

One source said Israeli and other commercial ships would also be spared, with Saudi vessels excluded from that assurance.

This morning, the Houthis have now reportedly seized Greater and Lesser Hanish after taking Mayun and Mokha.

Iran has now separately claimed that the IRGC intercepted and destroyed an American MQ-1 over Hormuz using its new air-defence system.
There is currently no US confirmation, independent corroboration or verified wreckage, so the claim remains unproven.

The expected meeting tomorrow that was supposed to announce the Oman / Iran Hormuz details has been postponed.
Unsure if this is because of the Yemen war or because of the continued attacks on merchant vessels.
This is a real blow to any hopes of peace soon…
