Harlan Ellison once mailed a brick and a dead gopher to an editor who failed to comp him for running cigarette ads next to one of his stories. I am a bad writer. Admittedly unrelated.
true story: Harlan Ellison once told my mother to quit writing, and she did. I’m her revenge on literature.
This is just an insecure power trip. Harlan Effin Ellison told a writer's workshop I was in that one of us should give up writing. Thankfully, he wasn't there and we never told him. Really try to be a little emotionally distant from your fav writers so if they're dipshits they can't fuck you up.

It occurs to me that it will be much more difficult for AI to convincingly write the uncanny and weird than it will be for it to write vampires banging each other
I chose to write experimental and weird uncanny fiction because I heard that's where the big bucks are.
