Fun chase from Greenleaf to Olsburg, KS. I made it just in time. A nice high-based supercell that had some structure at sunset to after dark. It was mostly undercut the whole time, but pretty.
I’ll add some more pics/vids tomorrow. #kswx

Probably the most ridiculous part of the day (aside from backing up ad the Willow, OK tornado destroyed a shed next to us) was watching this tornado 🌪️ pic 2 touch down from the RFD on unsuspecting chasers behind us!

Aug 16, 2020 - Mobeetie, TX - A day that over performed! Lots of CAPE, but very little shear ended up producing this epic supercell & a rainwrapped tornado. Thanks to a boundary that pushed west & enhanced low level shear just enough.

Watching lightning flicker out of a cumulonimbus with the stars shining overhead is just magical. This was severe warned for a bit. The next day was a tornado outbreak in IL that I couldn’t chase. #okwx

Happy Quake-nado day! 14 years ago already...epic tornadoes in southwest Oklahoma, then a 4.9 magnitude earthquake to finish it off. Just 2 days prior, Oklahoma had it's largest earthquake ever, at 5.7 mag. Fun few days. #okwx

Dropsonde from the NE eyewall at 12:55z from hurricane hunter aircraft currently in the storm has 210 kt winds (241 mph) only maybe 100 meters or so off the surface. 925 mb was at 44m so 907 mb isn’t much higher. That’s just insane. #Melissa #hurricane
