Occasionally playing games & watching movies or shows that seem interesting, then talking about the parts I enjoyed!
I can confirm this game was completely hidden from me in Steam unless I searched for "Nighthawks" in the Advanced Search.

Really hope Steam can reassess this. I've added it to my Wishlist now, but if I hadn't happened to see this random post, I wouldn't have known it was coming out so soon.
We are aware that Steam has classified Nighthawks as an adult game and has excluded it from searches (and delisted it entirely in certain countries). We are working on it. Valve is under the impression that this game is way sexier than it actually is.

I forgot to follow up, but I did get this game on my Steam wishlist a bit after this post.

Mystery theme + eerie, off-kilter vibes + high quality FMV looks like *exactly* my jam. But I'll definitely want to play Joni Evers first -- might do them back to back!
Steam is doing its Tuesday outage thing, at least here. So I'm reposting this so I'll remember to Wishlist it afterwards.
Oh, and if you could please wishlist, we would be BEYOND grateful. When we say that this is important, we mean it. This is a key metric. Please go do the thing!

Really love seeing larger creators holding the line against games made through generative AI.

Wanderbot has always been very clear about this, and uses his platform to share games made by people with a creative vision rather than reprocessed AI spew.

Also, the name "9 to 5" was a widely accepted reference to a standard employment shift in the USA.

When the movie was made in 1980, working five 8-hour shifts (9am to 5pm) was understood as making a livable wage which covered food, rent, healthcare, & common necessities.

Yes, seriously.
*deep sigh*

It has come to my attention that many of you don't know about 9 to 5. Gather 'round, children.

9 to 5 is a movie starring Dolly Parton (her first film, in fact), Jane Fonda, and Lily Tomlin as office workers dealing with an asshole boss. 9 to 5 walked so Office Space could run.

Incredibly good advice for a lot of life, IMO.
With D23 on now, a reminder you don't need to loudly voice your disinterest in upcoming projects. You can just...not say anything, which will ultimately cause you less misery.

This is how you color in birds when you're at the end of the fiscal quarter and unless you can demonstrate a specific business need for every possible crayon, next quarter your department will get nothing but lime, alizarin, and sky.

Divided by Werewolves, the podcast I do with @misterbones.bsky.social turns ten years old today. We just posted our 250th episode. Hard to believe it’s been ten years (especially when you look at our download numbers HEYO) but it’s been a blast for all ten years.

In addition to being an excellent podcast, it's also refreshing to have a clean, descriptive header image.

So many other thumbnails now looks like they were made by an AI trained exclusively to churn out Garbage Pail Kids.

Hello mateys! I had the pleasure of reviewing Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced for @smashpad.com! As a fan of the franchise, it’s a great way to experience one of its best, even if it has some flaws. Thank you to @danreb.bsky.social for entrusting the review to me. Hope y’all enjoy it!
REVIEW – “Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced” is still a swashbuckling good time
When Ubisoft announced a remake in the form of Black Flag Resynced, I was curious whether it’d live up to the original’s legacy. Having only played up until the halfway point back in my teens, Resy…

With today's news from Sony, it feels like a good time to confirm that this 2026 playthrough of a 2016 Pokemon game was accomplished by putting the physical game cartridge I own into the physical 3DS I own.

I never had to worry if a digital storefront would still honor my purchase a decade later.
I don't know how much legendary hunting @misterbinky.bsky.social did in Pokemon Moon back when he played in 2016, but the repetition of navigating the ultra wormhole for a small chance to encounter one rare pokemon per voyage puts a real damper on it for me.

Think I might be finished with this one.

I'm fairly certain that in the entire history of console games being available digitally, starting with the 360, I've purchased fewer than 10 non-physical games.

The specific reason I buy console games is to retain them on physical media. I go out of my way to get them on disc whenever possible.

Premieres tomorrow.

When it started, I never expected the story would resonate as strongly as it does. Fantastic voice acting, music, writing, and production values all the way through, and I absolutely loved it!

My favorite tidbit about Transformers: Beast Wars is that it developed such a strong emphasis on story & character development because the CGI animation of the era made splashy action sequences prohibitively expensive.

So they had to come up with interesting things for the characters to talk about.
YES! Creativity (and by extension game development) thrives by embracing constraints.

One of the most valuable things I’ve learned while producing at Strange Scaffold: If the edges are clearly defined, what you make inside of them will be intentional, clever, and fulfilling.
I think it's taken me like 20 years to truly internalize why creativity thrives under constraints

I used to conflate creativity with some notion of competence and the ability to realize your vision, but creativity is more about being able to find a meaningful artistic path in spite of constraints

Very sad news out of Bungie today. I can’t thank the devs enough for Destiny, and my heart breaks for everyone affected. I can’t imagine life without this game, I imagine that feeling is exponentially stronger for those who created it.

Wildly underappreciated movie, and it only gets more impressive when you learn about how it was made.

I'm a sucker for dinner party movies to begin with; this is one of the best!
This movie blew my mind. The thing about streaming is you never know when you will stumble onto a gem. #filmsky

This is just like how I do my writing: in order to see if the topic is worthy of my time and attention, I just copy & paste someone else's work into my document.

Then, if it looks good, I move it into my traditional pipeline of mixing in some synonyms.

Fans deserve nothing less.
We asked the Crystal Dynamics team about its use of generative AI in developing Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis. Here’s what Jeff Adams, experience director on the game, had to say.

Could you please post some pretty nature pics? Trying to find new things for her to look at every single day is, as silly as it sounds, a source of stress for me. I send her pics from my bird feeder and my daily walk with Della, but she gets confused if she sees too much of the same thing.

Pokemon Sun / Moon added some legitimately great QoL improvements, like replacing HM requirements with Ride Pokemon that can just be summoned as needed. I also like that gyms were replaced by distinct challenges with boss pokemon.

But man... I just don't care for the story. And they talk *so* much.
