The abrasiveness generates clicks and snowballs the algorithm until people have heard the message so many times in so many ways it gets unquestioned acceptance as truth, while the victims of the "truth" are left to defend themselves against a wall of hatred. I'm tired.

Its why transphobia, xenophobia, homophobia, and racism are so popular. The abrasiveness creates the thought terminating cliches. The recipe is:

"I don't care what ____ thinks. I am going to say: ______; and to hell with the consequences. Its just common sense."

The belief seems to be that saying stuff with out regard to the social consequences means the "truth" is important enough that people refuse to hear it because its difficult to hear. Its why Joe Rogan, Andrew Tate, Donald Trump, Sean Hannity, etc... are so freaking popular.

I often have heard that Trump "tells it like it is" and "speaks his mind rather than being filtered through political correctness". They don't care that he is lying. They care that he says his lies with confidence and volume. They care that he says it with out regard to social consequences.
