I will also always cherish moments like getting to talk about Dolly in class with @notquitehydepark.bsky.social my freshman year of college. Again, Dolly was a comfort when I found Harvard so scary and overwhelming.

So grateful for everything—big and small, public and personal—Dolly’s left behind.

I also think of my freshman year of college, being terribly depressed and homesick knowing, we couldn’t afford the plane ticket home for Thanksgiving.

My dad sold a bunch of his die casts to buy it, which would give me my last birthday and Thanksgiving we spent together.
