we don’t teach young people short-term history, so it was weird when i realized that gen z had no idea that so many gen x and millennials spent our high school years protesting george w bush
and not just because of the wars, but because mosques were being targeted and sikh men were being attacked

There are already articles circulating trying to rewrite history and say America was great after 9/11 and united and thoughtful and just a reminder that that period was marked by intense and insanely racist hatred, paranoia, and a frothing desire for unhinged violence and oppression.

Maybe the “revision” should include not setting off 4 sets of fireworks— including during a hydration break— when there’s an active air quality alert
The NWSL’s air quality policy definitely needs some revisions, but if the game was scheduled for today it would have reached the threshold to be canceled (AQI 200+). I assume MLS operates under similar if not identical guidelines. However, this will be an ongoing issue the league should evaluate.
Your telling me the MLS…. The MLS postponed a game because of poor air quality and the NWSL didn’t. Cold day in hell when they do something good and this league doesn’t

ICE shot and murdered Lorenzo Salgado Araujo (52). He spent 35 years as an honest, tax paying neighbor with 3 kids, all US citizens. He worked hard to get his citizenship. And ICE killed him before he could, then confirmed he was not even their intended target.
