Their answer to the trolley problem is literally "let everyone die but as long as I enable it passively, through inaction, my hands are clean"

Which, for the umpteenth time, no they are not!

Every insult in politics nowadays is a thinly-veiled substitute for the N, K, F or C-slurs.

liberal democracy is not a luxury. liberal democracy is the magic beast that ran the table on fascism and communism and totalitarianism. we did not do this by giving up on liberal democracy and embracing evil. we did this by sticking to our most dear principles.

All of these guys coincidentally discovered God in a dream or vision a few years ago and were told they are on a messianic quest to usher in the post-liberal utopia of the master race.

Remember, every single person who ever said "We don't need a President, we need a CEO to run this country like a business" has been proven to be 1000% laughably wrong.
“We could do tremendous good for ourselves by just not trading with countries” — Trump’s bonkers view of trade is that you become wealthy by not engaging in commerce

Ironically, this is how most Americans think a woman would act as president.
Just wild that the old man, who ran again only so he could stay out of prison, is just spending all of his time redecorating while running this country into the ground.
Trump is emboldened on his construction agenda, following the Supreme Court's ballroom ruling.

Burgum announced today work will start on Trump's arch.

DOJ lawyers also asked a federal judge today to throw out a legal challenge to arch, citing SCOTUS ballroom ruling as precedent.

it's insane they do this bend-over-backwards "critics say it raises questions" shit when the actual law just says "its illegal to put living people on currency"
The U.S. Mint releases video showing the manufacturing process for $1 coins featuring President Trump, issued to mark the United States' 250th anniversary in 2026. Critics have raised questions about the design's legality.

Men who make their money by talking unscripted and unedited for hours and hours on end are by and large just not worth listening to.

I regret to inform you that not all crime is stolen bread crime.

It's always funny (/tragic) when people propose work requirements "to restore the dignity of work".

People like working! They don't like having to jump through weird administrative hoops!

I genuinely can't think of a perspective on American politics more thoroughly discredited at this point than "they're unmotivated by genuine convictions, it's all pure greed". Having that take in 2026 should get you put in a home. Do you assholes know how much better off we'd be if that were true?

You see it over and over and over again: The idea that a political party is a Brand, a politician is a Product, and a vote is a Purchase. It is one of the worst, most diseased ways you can possibly approach politics & it has, ironically, become *deeply* embedded amongst the left

The story of COVID breaking our social norms is still basically true but the thing about it is that the real story is one of Americans being decadent wimps instead of the lockdowns being some beyond-the-pale act of tyranny
People have this idea that the pandemic is what broke our social norms. The reality is 2020 saw the largest uprising for civil rights in my lifetime, and the average citizen spent less than a month in "lockdown" (it was not).

The pandemic is a whipping boy for real political problems!
This liberal know-how was lost during the pandemic as other forms of social skills were decimated, and as far as I can tell, has not returned.

like, a core component of why one of the two parties that matter is fucking insane now is because their money comes from like 500 rich cranks. a couple dozen wealthy boomers cooked their brains via post and cable news and it might kill us all. bad failure mode to have! take the launch codes from 'em

this is because musk gets Very Special Birthday Boy treatment, average person sees “space x has largest IPO in history”, thinks, “well, they must be doing something right” without understanding — or having explained — all of the reasons this shouldn’t have fucking happened at all
i do think a lot of mainstreamers have missed the ball on how musk has moved past "rich guy with funny opinions on race science" and into "literally just a nazi"

Inside of you there is a small Russian liberal who demands recognition for doing the bare minimum, demands being sheltered from the consequences of our government's actions, and thinks everyone else is just as bad as us

You need to strangle that voice in your head if you want to keep your dignity.

Yeah so we're demanding shit about minority language rights and national sovereignty over trade agreements while also funding an astroturfed separatist movement right on our border

No parallels here, no reason to be alarmed, stop being such a hysterical lib obsessed with Russia
There are a lot of you who seem to be overly concerned about people being rude to you when the people in question are a bit miffed that we're upending the global order and currently threatening to invade their country using a playbook from 12 years ago that is still currently ongoing

I see a lot of my Republican colleagues are pretending to be alarmed by the national debt. Give me a break.

Those concerns would have been useful before they voted for a bloated defense budget, blank checks for a lawless ICE operation, and tax breaks for the richest of the rich.
