Sigh. Yet again, not the obituary I'm looking for. What an amazing woman.

Let's watch her tell everyone that Ireland owes the UK nothing. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fGo...

David Quinn saying “craic” is just wrong, it’s like Roy Keane saying “it me” or Pat Spillane saying “swiftie”.

Have seen this Nature piece about the effects of X's algorithm mentioned again and it bears repeating; exposure to a right wing algorithm makes you - measurably and predictably - more right wing, even after you stop using it.

Watching the news from Germany. It might be of interest to people that 'My Fourth Time, We Drowned' has 6 translation deals but we never managed to find a German publisher (though it's the one we tried hardest for). It is about migration & EU complicity in crimes against humanity on Europe's borders
A reminder that 'My Fourth Time, We Drowned' is now available in

A lookback and a rethink on the meaning of the fuel protests. My feeling is that anything which punctures the complacency of this government has value. Maybe I'm right. Maybe I'm wrong. Disagreement in good faith is possible.

Iceland votes narrowly against seeking to join the EU.

The campaign was dominated by fishing, the country’s biggest industry, and how it could be affected if it were controlled by the EU’s Common Fisheries Policy.

Harald's death is pretty momentous for Norway. He was very well regarded, a sort of grandfather of the nation. His family and successors...much, much less so.

Could he be the last King of Norway?
