Every other time a bad thing happens, my timeline is filled with posts complaining about all of the people who support this bad thing, but not many of those people's actual posts. Not none, necessarily, but very very few comparatively.

Hey, I’m just asking questions. Ignorant questions, bigoted questions, questions that have been repeatedly answered for many years. Sorry, but I’m not listening to answers right now; I’m far too busy asking questions. It’s called being intellectually curious.

ICE builds more prisons because the goal is explicitly to warehouse surplus labor, criminalize poverty, and assert total control over all of society.

When Stephen Miller claims there are 25, 30, or even 50 million "illegal immigrants" in the US, he's betting on how many of us he'll need to imprison

not that you should expect anything more than rank idiocy from this pair of racists, but the idea that whiteness means a "high trust" society of "social cohesion" is some of the stupidest shit i have ever heard. these people live in a fantasy land that you could dispel by simply opening a book.

Gov. Gavin Newsom on Wednesday sought to rein in a wave of legal claims that have pushed some local governments and school districts in California to the brink of bankruptcy, after earlier laws made it much easier to sue over child sexual abuse.

One of the most annoying things about discussing queerness, feminism and patriarchy in 2026 is that most people who claim to understand what the word "systemic" means are very quickly revealed to be generalizing their extended friend group drama into broader Observations about Society.

Observing public arguments between conservatives having an election panic and liberals trying to decide whether or not burying minorities is good has convinced me that "leftist infighting" is a complete meme and we actually agree with each other way more than other political tendencies tbh

there are moral arguments against the death penalty in its ideal form but in real life you never need to get there. the prior question is "can the state be trusted to end the life only of the rightly convicted without torture?" and the answer is no

“Things like banning transgender kids from playing sports in schools or from being able to access medical necessary healthcare – those things didn’t even exist in 2020,” Logan Casey, MAP’s director of policy research, told me.
The picture for LGBTQ+ Americans has changed in recent years, and for trans folks the change has been the most extreme. That's the upshot of a new report, out today from the Movement Advancement Project.

Today I saw the new 4 hour documentary Musk, directed by Alex Gibney. There were too many times to count that a sold out theater burst out laughing at Elon Musk, something he said or did, even sometimes just how he looked. I believe that is his worst nightmare come to life.

Sometimes I feel like I’m one of the only people processing the death of journalism happening in real time. If a description of what is happening appeared in a dystopian novel it wouldn’t be out of place and everyone would know it was the death of the free press.
