Still lovely looking graphics. I've never consider this type of driving game before.

So long as you can run your favourite games, that flight sim you occasionally screenshot looks beautiful.

It's frustrating isn't it. The ram price nowadays is Similar to the ram prices in the 90s - bloody expensive! The fickle finger of fate dealt me a good hand as I built a new pc before the price of ram went haywire. A mate of mine is snookered at the moment, similar to you I guess.

I remember a friend telling me he had a 486dx2 with 16mb ram. This was in 1993 and I remember being amazed at this spec pc & we spent many hours burning midnight oil playing Civ instead of uni work 😂 he upgraded to a pentium and I borrowed his 486 c. 1995. Until I bought a pentium sometime in 96.

It's was alway fun faffing around with. Bat and config. Sys files to get dos and the pc to do what you wanted - extended memory drivers, mouse drivers etc

I played all the dooms and heratic(doom with magic). Never played Decent but Microprose Mech Warrior series of games I thoroughly enjoyed, it died some what when Microsoft took over the game series. I still got the game boxed up in the loft. System shock 2 was another great game too.

Windows 3.1 brings back fond memories! Played my first "3d" game on this version of windows wolfenstein.
At a risk of facing the aire of the masses here, but I often find you local friendly LLM can help enormous with this sort if IT issue. Gemini/Chatgpt have assisted me hugely in home IT projects

You'll have plenty of scope for super detailing!

Now will it rain?

These are a splendid pair of afvs, and way under represented. You've done a fantastic build and paint scheme there.

Great build there and lovely weathered natural metal finish making the decals standout nicely.

I thought this was going to be Count Welding-mask, Count Binfaces competition in Derby!

The rejection is more aligned with planning policies over the 200ish folk out of 7000ish who objected.

It is, but I've only gone as far has hand railing and the odd companion way. You see some ship model builds who have mastererly skill with PE. I find it endlessly amazing the skill folk have in their modelling, they're a constant source of inspiration.

Looks really good but super fiddly. Mind you I've dabbled with ship hand railing on 1:700 ships which is mega fiddly, they do look great when installed. I always have the issue of getting them glued satisfactorily. And ultimately the fiddliness beats me. I wish I had the skill/patients as you

We've just received a new little furry lodger ourselves. My mum can't mange keeping him and now we're his!

Ah, I see now, I saw your post on clutches but hadn't realised this is a 'new' car. Good win on the clutch-scam. But bloody outrageous that trades will attempt to scam folk.

Smokers lungs cunjures up and image and a half! Did you get the structural work repaired?

Yeah, I often see folk asking for assistance with Admin, but I know what a tough job it'd be. Perhaps something AI assistance might actually be good for in the future, assuming a Termintor scenario hasn't wiped us off social media!
July 24, 2026 at 10:20 AM
Might the answer be setting up a friendly only modelling FB group?but I guess administration would be soul destroying 🤔
