The fact that the man who murdered a CEO is plastered across news media with unlimited resources dedicated to his capture, despite in the meantime over 100 people have been murdered in the US since that shooting should tell you that yes, rich people are considered more valuable than you.

One mistake urbanists often make is arguing with people when they say they NEED their car for, frankly, whatever. Maybe they do, maybe they don’t, but I find the more effective point is that, if they have to or want to drive, it’s in their best interest that their neighbours can CHOOSE to NOT drive.

REMINDER: Those choosing to live in subsidized suburbs for a bigger house and yard are NOT also entitled to free-flow car traffic capacity (aka an “easy car commute”) into the city at the expense of the taxes, health, safety (hint: bike-lanes) & quality of life of city-dwellers.
