I am gonna make a thread of bus stop signage I see. I’d like to see NJ Transit improve way finding and signage at bus stops and rail stations for buses. This is an example from Wuppertal, North Rhine-Westphalia.

Chronic elevator problems at Bergenline for many years now. We were shuttled by bus to Tonnelle Ave station where the stairs are unavailable.

Oh and the countdown clocks are offline at Tonnelle so no idea when the next train is.

Letter to the Editor: Bike lanes, while important to some, shouldn’t top our list of things to tackle in a city where it’s cold six months a year.

It’s just not a priority.

I really hate these fucking ice cream trucks. I’m trying to have a beer at Flatiron Plaza and the fumes are so strong coming from the trucks generator.

The LA Times posted a story the other day about the dangers of flying in helicopters reporting breaking news, but they haven’t posted a story about how dangerous it is to share the road with dangerous drivers and super large private vehicles.

@eleanalittle.bsky.social two times in the past week I’ve come close to getting hit by a driver on Montgomery next to city hall. In both cases, drivers illegally double parked on EB Montgomery and then moving drivers quickly without any care whatsoever swerved into the WB lane and almost hit me.

I don’t understand what they mean by brt corridors, and how that will speed up buses. Based on my observations, drivers making right turns slow the buses down and even worse drivers will make right turns from the lane left of the bus lane. The other issue is cars blocking intersections.
The M15 and M15-SBS that run on First and Second Avenues carry 57,000 daily and 16 million annual riders.

Right now, they both run at an average speed of 8mph or less — making them simultaneously some of the slowest buses in the nation, and some of the fastest in New York City. buff.ly/zS0AqZ7

@customeradvocate.bsky.social looks like they are sending out alerts for every line because of a truck fire on the Turnpike, but it's not relevant for routes like this. www.njtransit.com/travel-alert...

Whether it’s proclaiming a local emergency on traffic violence or simply stopping the stalling of efforts to make our streets safer, our leaders need to act. Traffic violence is a public safety crisis that requires immediate action.

What is going to take to get actual bus lane usage enforcement in Brooklyn. We built all these bus lanes and I see more cars in them than buses. Cars use it as an express lane and buses are in the main lane, stuck behind other cars @mayor.nyc.gov

NYC raised the value of travel lanes to outsiders coming in through congestion pricing but haven’t embraced Shoup by collecting on the value of their on street parking which is immense.

Of 3 million curbside parking spaces, only about 80,000 are metered. Metering 1/4 could raise $1.2 B per CC.

There is a lot of attention paid to teens on e-bikes, e-motos and scooters. But very little attention paid for teens either dying in crashes or causing deadly crashes & it happens all the time in New Jersey www.aol.com/articles/tee...

The GSP is so dangerous. What are democrats doing about this?

“Regardless of what investigators ultimately determine in these particular crashes, aggressive driving, excessive speed and dangerous lane changes can put everyone sharing the highway at risk.”

Even in Jersey City, traffic engineering will drag their feet for years about a simple problem like a dangerous intersection missing stop signs. It truly is a lot easier when the local councilperson is in your corner fighting for safer streets. Thank you Councilwoman @eleanalittle.bsky.social
I’m proud to announce that the new stop signs on 1st & Brunswick and 3rd & Brunswick are finally here — just in time for back to school!

Thank you to the Department of Infrastructure for your hard work and all the community advocates for pushing to get this done.

Riding the tram from work today, a 契弟 in an Audi R8 got frustrated with Queens Rd C traffic and used the bus lane to swing into Des Voeux Rd C which has general thru traffic restrictions to prioritize buses & trams. R8 blasts pass the restrictions but there is a cop there ready with a ticket.

I recently learned that there's 19K people driving daily on this road, and ~60K bus riders daily! Def seems like more space should be going to buses than cars given there are 3X more riders. Kudos to Hudson County for pursuing this project, it could be the largest BRT in the country outside of NYC.
