I've started the Dungeon Crawler Carl series. I read real slow, only on book 2. On Chapter 618 of One Piece, but it's been real slow so I haven't made much progress. Last year a book I can't stop thinking about is Max Brook's Devolution. I don't like scary reads but that one was GOOOOOOD.

This was the day we climbed Leggett to get back to the coast after spending a week inland riding through Humboldt.

He's such a happy guy, always down to go on an adventure. Just like every other distance cyclist, planning the next route. I've only ever set out to ride my bike places I've never been alone, but have made a few good friends out there, and have met plenty of characters.

He's about as French Canadian as one can get, flowing between English and Quebecoise in the same sentence when talking to me, who knows no Quebecoise.

He made it to the Grand Canyon on his bicycle, got snowed in cuz it was November, then continued to Key West, FL. The guy will never admit something is difficult, but just about everything he's done in life is fun.

He reached out a few days ago, just a few days north of New York, having ridden with his friend from Trois-Riviéres. We met up last night and caught up, sharing stories from our short time together. The thing with bike touring is that time felt like months.

Not all the time anymore. I was so sick for a year leading up to that therapy. It was illness induced. I will have moments where suddenly the floor is rapidly rising or I'll watch the walls corkscrew. Never was put on meds cuz it was an inner ear issue that just needed time to heal.

I had to spend a summer in vestibular therapy so I could relearn how to walk straight and also not fall over in the shower. Doing the tight turns in the shower was so brutal when my vertigo was bad.
