Mostly posting nonsense.
A month ago LA Mayor Karen Bass posted a video of her showing up to fill a pothole and then didn't fill it because a car was parked near it. She laughed while she said she couldn't fill it. And she was the better candidate in the last race!

Anyway, no idea if it's filled now.
On September 17th, we filled our 200,000th pothole. See something that needs fixing in NYC?

Turds, believe it or not.
A US-China spat that derailed a joint G20 statement mostly revolved around a dispute over one word. Read more: bloom.bg/4cVbaRS

We are finally returning to the crank-start for cars. Get your cranking arms ready. Make America Crank Again.
Sean Duffy: "You know the stop/start button on your car? I hate that thing. Thank you Lee Zeldin! He's gotten rid of it and the first cars without the stop/start button are rolling off the line."

Adrian Hemond says El-Sayed has "raised questions." What are those questions Adrian???
There's literally nothing wrong with either of these posts. Nothing at all wrong with them. This is such an insane and obvious attempt to attack him because he's Muslim.

Rarely is the question asked, is ours turds flushing?
Graphic Content Warning: synthetic turds

This experimental drainage test rig, constructed by Steve Wright in Australia, clearly shows the impact of 🧻 +💩 with an actual flush. This drain is installed at a gradient of 1.25% so it’s still steeper than what’s typically installed in the US.

It's very simple. Lake America drains through the America River to the Gulf of America. There are many tributaries, like America Streams 1 - 12,456. Some of these connect to America Ponds and others to America Creeks 1 - 25,235. Some of these are only passable by taking the America Creeks Bridges.

The most confusing United Airlines Safety Video I have ever seen.
Hell Gate reporter Katie Way is not exaggerating when she says that "this video has the potential to become a certified NYC politics cult classic along the lines of the Eric Adams teenage room search PSA." It's cuckoo bananas from start to finish:

to the point that when I DJ'd last month I made sure to reference it, I'm not sure if anyone at #EMFcamp got the joke or not but it was for me so that's not the point.

This is what the growth of surveillance is going to bring. Not safety from crime, but new, non-criminal acts redefined as criminal so as to give the police an excuse to exercise power.

when the Dems retake the White House the president needs to immediately issue an executive order saying the Supreme Court building is closed indefinitely for renovation. Roberts says he can do this. They can meet in a hotel conference room.
This is also what SCOTUS did with Trump's illegal (by their ruling) tariffs
This is what the Roberts Court did in the NIH grant cancellation cases, and the mass firing (RIF and probationary) cases too: allow the Trump actions to continue as the cases make their way through the courts.

It’s a move to stay below the radar while the Court supports the Trump admin. 1/2

My husband Drew wrote this at breakneck speed while moving cross-country and caring for an 8 month old, bc he felt it was necessary, ethically and politically, to correct the record. If you read Tyler Austin Harper's piece, I hope you'll read this.
Andrew Baker was also a “token black professor” at Bates College. But his perspective on the events Tyler Austin Harper recounts in his Atlantic cover story is very different. Read Baker’s side of the story online today.

the fact that john ossoff can kick off a two-day media cycle by saying that the president is uninterested in doing his job and is sleeping through meetings and traveling around with a young blonde, suggests that not enough of these guys are speaking plainly and effectively about these assholes

When I first moved to LA I found a job on craigslist that said it was to fundraise for progressive causes. It turned out it was a call center. After a vague explainer I sat with a guy who told me what to do: call these numbers and get them to donate.

I didn't have the heart for that shit.
The fundraising texts you delete are working on someone. It’s infuriating and heartbreaking.

An 85yo in Ohio gave more than double the value of his home. A 91yo in an Indianapolis senior facility gave 25K times.

The DCCC/DSCC don’t just tolerate the spammers who exploit seniors. They take part.
Hook and Squeeze

And because it's extra adorable in context - Chicxulub is a small, remote seaside village on the Yucatán and the crater site went unmarked until local elementary school children decided to design a monument for it.
