the primary social crime of the near-future will be making people feel bad for refusing to think
it’s crazy watching people be loud and wrong online and when presented with facts they simply refuse to accept them like. i know we’re in a literacy crisis but now it feels like we’re doing straight up crimes against information.

A day after The Late Show ended, Colbert hosted an episode of public access program Only In Monroe, reviving his 11-year-old gag.

How bad is CBS/Paramount taking it? They issued copyright complaints for a show they don't own. 🤣

CBS would hate it if you watch here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DlF...

I keep hearing otherwise normal people say things like “you know, [sex pest/internet nazi] is wrong on a lot but he’s right on [anodyne thing]” and it’s such a clear symptom of brain poisoning and really demonstrates how effective the Twitter guys have been at force-feeding bigotry to everyone

shockingly people are capable of simultaneously,

1. Hating their government

2. Hating the people who bomb and sanction their country, making regular life impossible and murdering members of their family, even more

I feel like Trump is jealous of Obama for taking out Bin Laden. He wants his own heavily publicized victory against a monstrous enemy of the people who killed huge numbers of U.S. citizens.

More than oil or anything else he wants the optics of quickly and (for us) painlessly taking out an "enemy".
If Maduro is in custody my expectation is the admin will try to hold Dumb Nuremberg. They'll make it a judicial referendum on fentanyl and try to blame Maduro for the deaths from the opiate crisis.
