A $3 @mta.info subway fare and some good Q train timing can buy you one hell of a view of the July 4th fireworks and the Brooklyn Bridge light show!
Huge shoutout to the train operator for slow rolling over the Manhattan Bridge and the conductor for announcing it.

Soldiers only matter when they're actively fighting wars for you, and really not even then.
Once they leave the military, Trump and Hegseth couldn't care less what happens to them.
Once they leave the military, Trump and Hegseth couldn't care less what happens to them.
The VA lost about 700 social workers and 500 psychologists and psychiatrists over the course of 2025 — a significant change for an agency that was adding mental health staffers nearly every month leading up to Trump’s return to office.

“I am somebody” shaped how millions of us saw ourselves as kids, including me. That message mattered. It still does.

It’s too cold in NY even for penguins. The Long Island Aquarium brought 20 penguins indoors due to frigid temperatures. South African black-footed penguins prefer milder weather, so when temperatures drop below 30 degrees, they’re moved inside. (ABC News)

Powerful. Brutal. Inspirational. A loving tribute to Renée Good, Alex Pretti & the good people of Minneapolis.
Plus, it name-checks all the villains: the Puppy Killer🐶, Pee-Wee German🇩🇪, the Orange Atrocity🍊💩 & above all: ICE🧊🚫

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

Zohran’s inauguration brimmed w/the energy that NYC is “a shining beacon of possibility” per @jumaane.bsky.social.
Amidst the darkness of authoritarianism, inequality & hate, we have a chance to show what’s possible.
That’s always been our mission as New Yorkers—it was profoundly renewed today.

In 2025, Kilmar Abrego García became the face of resilience in the face of injustice for our brothers and sisters in the Hispanic community.
Today, he is free to sing to his God from his unbroken spirit.
Let us go into 2026 filled with hope and courage, knowing that we, too, shall overcome. 💙

Black Americans have been the tip of the spear for civil rights, securing liberties for everyone—including people of color who distanced themselves from the movement the moment they walked through the doors we opened.
