Work for a soc. justice public school teaching art and comp sci to 3-11 yr olds. Reading is my passion.
AI infrastructure should be seized from private corporations and made into a heavily regulated nationalized utility. We have nothing to lose but our chains, and the world to gain.

I see your point. I just worry that in Bronin we have a guy whose ties to wealth and privilege will make him actively a vote in the wrong direction on progressive initiatives. Money from Wall Street powered his campaign and it leaves me wondering what he owes them in return.

John Larson is a profoundly decent man. If we need to rid ourselves of anything it's dark money in politics. Bronin made age the only issue in this primary. When obsession with age results in purging a progressive lawmaker and losing that voice in congress, it is doing more harm than good.

Just saw this show. Outstanding. Esphyr Slobodkina has become one of my new favorite artists of all time. Very cool mix of different media.

New Britain is a little city with a lot of heart in central Connecticut. This museum only exhibits American artists. It's really an amazing spot. Cool stuff comes through all the time.

Yes. And strong with labor unions. Despite being older, he was the progressive choice. I can't help thinking some people blindly voted for the younger guy without looking into it assuming they were voting in progressive ideals

Unfortunately, younger in this instance doesn't equal more progressive. Larson was a strong supporter of working people while Bronin is bankrolled by wealthy private donors and was very vague about how he would be different beyond just being younger

Feel like the world would be a lot better off if billionaires felt a bit less insulated from the harmful consequences of their risky decisions and normal people didn't have to be so constantly afraid of catastrophic consequences to bad luck

Never wanted to crawl into a hole and die as much as when I got it wrong to a parent of a student. They were so kind to me in response.

Beautifully made point. Sometimes I think it's the wording of the Golden Rule that's the problem "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" still centers the self. How about "Do unto others as THEY would have you do unto them"?

There's a B in dumbfounded? I didn't know that. I bet a lot people didn't know that.

Mine was "parvenu" in a 9th grade essay about Great Expectations. I remember being excited that there was a word for EXACTLY how Pip was acting. Then a teacher asked me to define it and I realized she was asking me because she didn't think I had actually written it.
