gamification is like caffeine and sugar where its crept into everything and the people in charge this stuff think its a fun little way to improve recurring revenue like its its just a gold star in pre-k, when in reality 1% of humanity is predisposed to sticker addiction.
And you got other levels of this, like how people keep playing games they hate because of like unlockable season pass retention mechanisms and stuff. So much of modern gaming is about tricking people into doing things they don't like for psychological rewards.
