I don't think that is an "easy answer" - it it too simplistic
there are bigger questions -
1 e..g social care is currently based on eligibility criteria with high thresholds and so heavily rationed and limited to people with high levels of need. Very different from universal NHS

This is really worth a read, not least because there can (and hopefully will) be a long gap between diagnosis (especially early diagnosis) and what those of us familiar with the disease might think of as "disappearance". And even in the event of the latter, decent quality of life is still possible.
