according to politico, since Jan. 2025, Trump admin has deported 170+ people “in violation of court orders,” “in defiance of legally mandated due process protections,” or “to countries from which they had sought or received protection from torture and persecution”

This is why Trump can’t stand Black women. They don’t take his shit.

Let’s appreciate Rep. Joyce Beatty for being the fighter we need.

Trump: “I think you’re incompetent.”

Beatty: “I know you’re incompetent.”

Then she reminded him: “You had more bankruptcies than anybody in the room.” 🔥

Seriously, we need new Dem leaders STAT.
Dem leaders: Impeachment is a waste of time that doesn't accomplish anything!

Frontier AI models are currently a dangerous technology without the safeguards needed to protect people from serious harm.

That's why we should immediately pause the development of advanced AI while lawmakers and regulators put systems in place to keep people safe.

the thing that stands out to me is less the Dem spread than the fact that the GOP seems stuck in the low 40s. if that holds, and if undecideds/double-haters break for Democratic candidates in the final stretch, you are looking at a total collapse for the congressional GOP

a lot of people think that faillison hired bari weiss to deliberately destroy CBS news and i think all of you need to consider the possibility that he hired her because he genuinely thought she would be successful.
a wild thing is that they didn’t just give her editorial control, they gave her what sounds like operational control (over hiring/firing), which would be objectively an insane thing to do even if she was good at editorial, which she isn’t, or had experience at an org this size, which she doesn’t
Once again for the people in the back. Bari does not have any talent. She can throw a good party and chat you up but good, and people mistake that for ability. It was fine enough to open her empty vessel of a newsletter. It can't run a real organization.
