Lots of inhumane people out there. Sounds like Maddie K. was pushed into being her own Pelicot.
There is a corner of the internet I had never heard of before I started reporting this story.

It’s called the “burnerverse”: a network of anon burner accounts ostensibly discussing college sports. But they have another goal: destroying young girls’ lives.🧵:

A College Girl Was Exploited on Camera. A Network of Anonymous Men Got to Work
Maddie Kowalski is one of countless young women who’ve had their lives destroyed by the burnerverse, a loosely connected online community of sports fans. Now she’s fighting back.

🇪🇺⚖️Laurent is right on many counts. The Rule of Law Report - a descriptive tool, despite what some in the Commission might try to tell you - remains underutilised. Monsieur Pech, in his unmistakeable fashion, pulls no punches. How can the EU make the report more relevant? Three suggestions: 1/
My latest @verfassungsblog.de post is dedicated to the latest edition of the Commission’s #RuleofLaw Report. Key argument: This tool, launched in 2020, has become a defective and overrated “stock-taking exercise” doing more harm than good

Over the next months, the EU will decide whether to water down car emission regulations, which currently prescribe the sale of zero-emission vehicles only from 2035

Predictably, the regulation is coming under attack from various political and media actors in Germany.

One big reason I quit Twitter was that it's kinda not chic to provide content to a platform whom your workplace is fighting in a court.
2025 set a precedent, 2026 delivered the win 👏🏽

Ahead of Germany's 2025 federal elections, we needed publicly available data to study disinformation and coordinated inauthentic behaviour before the vote. We asked every major platform for research access. Every one said yes. Except X.

BREAKING:

After the Washington Post fired me last year for speaking the truth in the wake of the Charlie Kirk killing, I fought back.

And I'm happy to announce: I won my case against the Washington Post.

They have been ordered to reinstate me immediately.

The editor in chief of The Economist referring here to the AfD’s leader as a “perfectly thoughtful person“ instead of what she truly is - a driver and enabler of German fascism - is a huge part of the problem.
At one point she notes that AfD, the German political party that Musk supports, has "real neo-Nazis."

Musk literally just shrugs.
