Oh, wow, her quotes on it are even stupider. There is no world “free of politics” anymore. Billionaires and tyrants have made that quite impossible.

it’s often quite difficult to tell if these people are actually just too stupid to make coherent arguments or if they have got such terrible brain worms that they don’t understand the inconsistencies in their arguments, but I think with Sodha it might be both (her HE coverage was always awful too)

The wrecking campaign where a secret bung funded 1) projects to hand the papers leaked emails and research on public Facebook comments, and 2) a bullshitty “fact-checking” organisation that told the same papers no such wrecking was happening, and the suggestion it was is a racist conspiracy theory.

Peter Mandelson is still a Lord, by the way. He just doesn’t go to work any more. And the last few years of Labour peerages is a who’s-who of horrible people who needed jobs after they suicide-bombed their own careers helping out with Morgan’s secret wrecking campaign.

£72m for Reform over the weekend could be just the tip of the iceberg

There's nothing to stop Elon Musk giving, via a UK X subsidiary, £300m to Restore Britain today

Or a Trump ally giving £500m to Farage via a UK-registered firm

There's a v narrow window to tackle big money in the elections bill

Gotta love the BBC and the British press for somehow managing to twist a story about Nigel Farage accepting obscene bungs from crypto millionaires into a debate about whether Labour should be accepting union donations hahahahaha

It really is just that if the public are listening to Amnesty International saying Israel are committing war crimes, then that is detrimental to the Times of London saying Israel is not committing war crimes.

Timing really is the secret of comedy. Ideally, they’ll make McSweeney a lord on the same day they unveil plans to stamp out dubious bungs from politics.

No, this is not a joke.

UK Lawyers for Israel are trying to proscribe *Médecins Sans Frontières*.

That’d mean they’d be treated as terrorists.

On the same legal footing as ISIS.

Membership would mean 14 years in prison.

This is what we’re dealing with

The British press has been extremely hostile towards Amnesty International, Medicins Sans Frontiers, Oxfam and others for decades because *they offer rival narratives that the public might listen to*, and that is not acceptable, to them.

Without secretly taking huge cash payments under the table then keeping them off the books as long as possible, the McSweeney/Starmer project explodes on the launchpad. There is no meaningful Labour right, without millionaire funding: almost nobody likes or wants them, and only millionaires will pay

This can’t change because the current government is basically just a lot of secret bungs to fund a clandestine wrecking campaign, evolving into a full fledged machine for turning millionaire cash into policy and jobs for the lads. And any realistic rivals are a lot worse.

It is also the product of treating media like the Telegraph as a serious and legitimate part of the democratic landscape rather than working for its destruction
A campaign for *MSF* to be banned as a terrorist group (on the paper thin basis of claims about 2 past employees) is the product of the UK Govt being willing to divorce any meaningful conception of societal threat from its use of proscription powers. Govt needs to wake up to the madness of this:

We might ask: what is the value of a democracy in which a dodgy billionaire can buy so much influence? Luckily for our politicians, few people (and fewer still in the legacy media) are curious enough to ask this.

They do not fight the fascists because they have been trying to *co-opt and channel* the fascists in their own interest. Which tells you that the call is coming from inside the house, a thing that’s brutally reinforced by the sheer number of far right crackpots at the top of our major institutions.

I also remind you: the most personally sympathetic, positive write up of the Morgan McSweeney story begins with him on a park bench realising his role as Labour’s Corporate Bungs Officer is fucked and defunct because the public are now funding the party, and he decides this aggrsssion will not stand
