These new Spider-Man movies have all hinged on punctual emotional moments that are not supported by anything else in them. Characterization will ONLY be illustrated and enunciated in a couple of memorable scenes, making them impactful at release but tedious in re-watch.

"Traditional" gender norms are so rabidly defended because men are shaped to painstakingly identify small shifts in the balance of power, that threaten the possibility of abuse. The anger instilled by the mere mention of both queer people and feminism is quite telling.
