Mostly posting about mundane home life but as the antithesis of Trad Wife bullshit.

Millions of eligible Americans aren't registered to vote — and many who think they are may have had their status lapse. Don’t be one of them.

Take two minutes today to check. Then let your friends know to check too!

Looking back on childhood, my cereal choices were Total, cream of wheat or Grape Nuts. Some very rare times, we might have Total WITH raisins.

I do not eat cereal.
We often discuss our favorite childhood cereals but..what were your LEAST favorite cereals as a kid? The ones your parents foisted on you, were stuck with when the good stuff ran out, or that you had to eat at a friend's house, etc..

This press release feels like it was written by someone held hostage in MGM's beige-colored basement without sunlight for 3 months until they finally got the mix of frantic desperation just right

I was paid to stuff envelopes for a massive Couponing Campaign for some gas company. Their mailing machine had died a week, an all the coupons had expiration dates.

Wasn't terrible as Temp Jobs went. AC, music, good cafeteria...
Happy labor day (USA). What's one of the oddest paid job you've had? Mine was probably as a reader for a medical professor at Rutgers, whose eyes were failing. I read him many academic texts, as well as Samuel Butler's "The Way of All Flesh."

I appreciate the direct (and correct) answer belong front and center here.

Absolutely amazing.
The most absolutely massive flex from the state fair exhibit. This quilt is made of 40 years of prize ribbons from various categories at the New Mexico State Fair won by Carol St. Clair Johnson. She also won a prize for this quilt.

Also I LOVED THIS THREAD! One of my favourite things at the plant where I used to work was that you would see the same train cars quite often, so I had my particular favourites. This was one of my faves. :D

Darlings, I get it. Singing slow can be fun; it's a delight to linger over some notes and show off those high / low tones

however when your entire catalog sounds like a fucking dirge, maybe consider picking up the tempo just a touch?

Cool? Good talk; thanks.

Sic transit Gloria. “At my age, in this still hierarchical time, people often ask me if I’m ‘passing the torch. I explain that I’m keeping my torch, thank you very much — and I’m using it to light the torches of others.”

I have been going to the same eye doc practice for nigh on 20 years. The head doc just retired and, thankfully, sold the practice to the next most senior guy. I am profoundly grateful it's staying basically in the same hands where profit isn't the sole or every primary motivator.

When I was in 7th grade one of my teachers required us to create a journal. He said we could put anything we wanted into it, but we had to write every day. He collected them at the end of each week and return to us on Monday.
