People get demoralized when transitioning when they discover that beyond the initial identification of "the problem," transitioning itself will not make you happy. What it provides is the POSSIBILITY for happiness by allowing you to more easily participate in romance, community and self-improvement

In general, (as a trans person who has been stuck in this trap) it does you absolutely no good to think about your transition / dysphoria as uniquely worse than other trans people. It's incel mentality and it lowers your self esteem and also makes you an unpleasant person to be around.

One thing that really sticks out to me during ableism discourse is how many people don't even talk about reasonable accommodation. I have two rods in my back and there's certain activities that would leave me paralyzed. It's not ableist to say that I probably shouldn't write a rollercoaster.
