It’s that time of year again to obsessively check the @newbeverly.bsky.social site for their annual Horror Show tickets.

Godspeed and good luck, everyone!

I’d love to see a Venn diagram of people who think Sally Choi (art director for Obsession) should just zip it and be grateful for the work and people who don't rely on their creative work for an income.

Tired of hearing people who don’t have to worry about paying bills say money isn’t important.

@jamellebouie.net Re: this week’s Opinions show

I also just rewatched The Wire, and I think you’re right that it’s probably the greatest show of all time.

The Deuce is the perfect companion piece IMO if you’re looking for something to watch next.

If you ever get the chance to see THE INNKEEPERS at a theater, DO IT. It’s one of those movies that plays so much better if you watch it with a crowd.

It’s almost as if being willing to die for the greater good and fight for the rights of our neighbors as much as our own is our whole national fucking identity.

From here out, if anyone talks near me in a movie theater, I’m going to shush them into an oblivion. I mean shushing them so hard that they sit stunned in their seats until well after the credits have rolled and an usher has to slap them out of a trance. And it’s going to feel incredible to do it.

I put a short film online today.

It’s a Super 8 ghost story pulled from North Carolina roadside myth.

Reese peanut butter cups, and every holiday iteration of them, are the Bret Hart of candy. The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be.

The excellence of execution, if you will.

Super 8 footage from the Hiss Golden Messenger show at The Rialto — all Kodak 500T.

I forgot my SD card (🤬), so the audio is from their live album Forward, Children supporting Durham Public Schools.

Enjoy!
