The funny thing about the name of this website is that TERF is an acronym invented by TERFs. They gave themselves a cutesy name to identify each other, and then when other people started calling them *what they called themselves* they decided they didn't like that anymore.

A lot of people have also literally never experienced truly walkable areas. A great way to radicalize someone in my experience is just take them to a decently walkable downtown and let them experience assholes in cars from the perspective of a pedestrian in a properly built-for-pedestrians area
A whole lot of people with otherwise progressive views suddenly get real mad when you talk about doing anything at all to address the scourge of speeding drivers killing people

Transportation infrastructure in the US is so fucked, because like if I want to go from Harrisburg to Baltimore (70 miles straight south) by train, I have to go to Philadelphia first (90 miles east of both other cities) and then transfer to a train that goes straight from Philly to Baltimore
