In Massachusetts, we have a responsibility to protect the vulnerable and stand up for those who need it. We don’t throw trans kids under the bus for political points. We protect them—and all of our neighbors—because trans rights are human rights.

“Orange man bad” is the most consistently correct take in U.S. politics for the past decade.

The people who disagreed that Trump is a fascist profoundly misunderstood politics and should have much, much more humility going forward.
This line from Ross Douthat’s final NYT column is something you see all the time from the soft-MAGA right. Sure, Trump’s *most* alarmist critics weren’t correct, but that’s basically true of every president. Trump’s *median* critic did in fact predict his presidency pretty accurately.

Depicting Jewish people with horns is a centuries-old, dehumanizing, antisemitic trope. Democratic Gov nominee Phil Weiser is outspoken about his mother’s birth in a Nazi concentration camp, his family members killed in the Holocaust, and the threat posed by antisemitism today.

it’s hard to explain how much shit like this has radicalized people. like i’m a white middle-aged broad who’s always been liberal but i’ve gone full-on “abolish ICE/reform scotus/the next dem candidate must commit to mass prosecutions” and you will not sway me from that position.
WHOA DHS does not say that the agent feared for his life… just the vague concern for “public safety.” So he killed him just because he did not want him in America, not because of any specific threat to agents?

Any Democrat seeking any office higher than dog catcher should be on the record for demanding this corrupt asshole’s impeachment on day one
By the numbers, Clarence Thomas has been treated to:
• At least 38 destination vacations;
• 26 private jet flights;
• 12 VIP passes to pro & college sporting events;
• 2 stays at luxury resorts;
• 1 standing invite to an uber-exclusive golf club

(Published 2023)
Clarence Thomas’ 38 Vacations: The Other Billionaires Who Have Treated the Supreme Court Justice to Luxury Travel
The fullest accounting yet shows how Thomas has secretly reaped the benefits from a network of wealthy and well-connected patrons that is far more extensive than previously understood.

MIldly interesting. He just a total nutcase who can't say how many people he's killed. I want to hear more about the crazed commies in the Democratic Party who want Medicare for All and affordable child care.
Far-right candidate Victor Marx has taken the lead for the first time in the GOP primary for governor in Colorado — now up 39.9% to 39.4% against the more moderate state senator Barbara Kirkmeyer.

Clarence Thomas says the 14th Amendment should be read narrowly because it was written for formerly enslaved people.

By that logic, the 2nd Amendment was written for muskets, not AR-15s.

Funny how that kind of originalism only shows up when it's convenient.

SCOTUS is no longer a legitimate institution. If Democrats actually want to keep power when we win it again, cleaning house and reforming that shithole of a court has to be priority #1.

Great @mjtoma.bsky.social takedown of Trump and his disastrous Iran war and "deal." Make sure to read the bullet points that lay out in brisk, easily digestible bullet points what an absurd fiasco this all is and why it didn't have to happen:

If Obama Had Done What Trump Just Did on Iran, He’d Be Crucified
The United States just unambiguously lost a war that it started for no good reason. A sane country would remove the imbecile who did this immediately.
