🇺🇸 Trump's apparent strategy now is to help Ukraine hit targets in Russia, at least with intelligence, while not stopping Russian strikes on Ukraine – hoping heavier losses push both sides toward a deal. The problem is that that logic is unlikely to work.

In my 20s I asked a mate how will I know if a girl I'm dating is the one to marry. He said I should meet her friends, that if I can't bear them then she's not the one. Took me 15 years to realise he was paraphrasing Spice Girls' Wannabe as life advice.

Not exactly scientific, but every liberal I know went to the polls reluctantly, irritably, and without hope. So it's not exactly surprising to me that differential turnout favours Reform.

Anyone who thinks this is going well for the Tories is lying or needs their head tested.
Tories trounced in Essex. Current vote share: Reform – 43%, Tories – 10%. The backyard of Badenoch, Cleverly, Burghart going teal.

I keep saying it, but the Tories are headed for UUPification. They won’t die altogether, but—absent a Reform collapse—they’ll persist as a centre-right rump that returns only a handful of seats.
It is a bad result overall for the Tories. But the benchmark Farage repeatedly set for these elections was to demonstrate conclusively that the Tories were finished as a national party - and thereby have Reform consolidate the right. Seems more likely the split on the right endures for now
A teal tide has swept the country – but much of London remains resistant. Blog here on why the capital is offering a bright spot for Kemi Badenoch:

keir starmer is not taking responsibility.

he's just saying the word 'responsibility'.

taking responsibility would be resigning.

At this point, Starmer's biggest use to Labour is probably being the one in charge when the global economy officially melts down, so the replacement can (potentially) be the face of the recovery.

Prediction: the Tories will continue to mistakenly move rightwards. Starmer will lash himself to the wheel and seek to continue his disastrously misconceived course until he's forced out.

Many think Ru may attack NATO after recovering post-ceasefire in Ukr. I disagree. For Ru, an attack on NATO may seem a path to victory in Ukr. Ru’d aim to destroy NATO by showing the countries further away would rush to compromise at the expense of Ukr and the newly attacked to avoid a bigger war.

Deny Ukraine membership in NATO, cut aid to Ukraine, promise Putin Donbas, praise Putin after he helps Iran, and now consider pulling troops out of Germany. How many gifts can Trump give Putin?

It is absolutely clear that the US blockade of Hormuz is targeted at Europe and Asia rather than Iran. Basically they are trying to leverage us into cleaning up their mess.

And this will then suck us in for good.
Hegseth: We are not counting on Europe, but they need Hormuz than we do. They might want to stop talking and get in a boat
