Boring, opinionated old guy, those just my good points!😊extremely worried for future with 2 extreme far right parties & far right Lab Govt, any/more than 1 of which, will prob be in Govt post GE. Pro EU membership, NHS, equality, Social liberal. 🏏 bore.
Think it is less likely to happen anywhere on the same scale with 2 parties, like Greens & Labour, with a massive raft of policy differences and a very substantial gap to where they are in relation to each other on the political spectrum.

I think this true when 2 parties like Reform & Tories have a very similar policy positions and are very close on the political spectrum.

It’s a million times less progressive when you pledge to make those on 100 grand better off while simultaneously pledging to make a ferocious assault on the living standards to the tune of 50 billion + of the sick and some of the poorest in the land.
October 4, 2026 at 8:16 PM
The fact that they are proposing to make those on 100,000 better off while simultaneously in the same breath talking about massive cuts off £50 million plus to the poorest and sickest in the country is exactly the behaviour that everyone would expect fm the Tories.

I don’t think the vast majority of those alive today need this proposal to ‘paint’ the Tories as favouring the rich. A review of the policies passed by Tory Govts for decades will surely demonstrate that is their DNA.

This isn’t a Conservative Party, it’s an extreme far right wing party, as proven by the conference so far and their policy platform.

Some of which was known before his first term & all of it by the end of it by every single person in the U.S. Yet the U.S. voters still voted for him to have a 2nd term. Look no further than that for the biggest idiots on earth by an absolute country mile.
October 2, 2026 at 7:51 PM
Err no, sadly Krasnov’s far from the biggest idiot on earth. Krasnov is a fascist, a Russian asset, a President who incited the attempted violent overthrow of U.S. democracy, a rapist, a President who openly admits he’s a man who openly in the street sexually assaulted hundreds/thousands of women.

Absolutely superb article. If, and it’s a big if in my mind, Burnham is really serious about considering a full rejoin or a SM rejoin then he will have to be bashing this argument home over and over again starting now. I suspect that isn’t going to happen but desperately hope I’m wrong.

I would ask what he's done to date to prove it - he's PM now.

Has he jailed water CEOs for pollution - nationalised water?
Why keep same Home Sec with same anti-migrant (racist) policies?
Why go easy on the fascist mobs?
Why continue jailing grannies peacefully protesting genocide/climate?

It's BS

They must also consistently castigate the proto fascists, the extreme far right & the far right Labour Party for creating a poisonous, divisive culture demonising migrants and immigrants. Nothing less will do.

The Lib Dem’s above all else must champion socially liberal platform, most importantly constantly making the case for immigration being good for the country.

A fascist going after the extreme far right leader of the Tories

Under Krasnov the U.S & Russia threat is one and the same thing so still outweighs the threat fm China
September 23, 2026 at 1:33 PM
And finally last but v much not least I’m sure he will have mentioned that his & Starmer’s far right Labour Govts have been supporting thls process by appeasing, aiding & abetting the extreme far right in the horrific demonisation of migrants/immigrants.

I presume Burnham’s speech also included that Krasnov was also doing the same on behalf of Putin. I presume he also mentioned that the BBC & the proto-fascist/extreme far right parties in the U.K. are guilty of the same.
